Our work is transformational because our people are extraordinary. frogs are analytical and artistic, conservative and unconventional, technical and whimsical. We look for hybrid talents and build teams around divergent expertise, which allows us to solve problems and uncover opportunities in unique ways. frogs are some of the best talent in the world, and together we advance the human experience through design.

This hybrid role requires both traditional strategic muscle as well as experience in organization design and leading culture transformations. Please do not apply if you do not meet this description.

The Position: Freelance Strategist, Organizational Design

What does the strategy practice do at frog? We develop customer insights, market perspectives, and organizational knowledge that informs and provokes the development, evaluation and implementation of new services, products, systems, and new businesses. Our work creates tangible business value for our clients and meaningful products and services for the people they serve, and the organizations that are changed through the design process.

Our clients come to us to build new businesses and experiences. We are successful when our collective ideas become real. We have deep expertise in product, service and experience design, but sometimes that is not enough. Our clients need help to become customer-centric organizations that are versed in user centered design and able to launch and support new offerings. As we help our clients transform through design, we need to map, coach and even run aspects of their organization for them. We call it Org Activation because we believe that the wis    dom and capability are already there in the organization, and can be ignited to accelerate change.

Senior Strategists work with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, technologists and program managers through the “fuzzy front end” of an engagement, establishing the frameworks that will guide the outcome. As the architect of the early project vision, it is critical that the Senior Strategist make clients feel both comfortable with and engaged in the entire design process. They work closely with designers and technologists to inject strategic considerations into each step of a client initiative. Senior Strategists must be adaptable to fast-changing situations, adept at answering tough questions from clients, and diplomatic in their assessment of the clients’ needs.

The Senior Strategist is trusted to work with limited supervision from a strategy director. They must be pro-active and independent in running their aspect of projects, and confident in making critical decisions when information may be incomplete or conflicting.

The Contribution

Are you a management consultant who can dive into both the numbers and the people side of an organization transformation? Do you seek to bring your multi-disciplinary approach to tackle some of the most complex problems that organizations face today? Do you have deep curiosity about both the data and the emotions that cause leaders and organizations to make choices? Do you believe that small changes can lead to big impact, and that organizations should have not only a mission, but also a soul? Do you feel that your interests and background don’t fit well in a box… when you are searching online for that next opportunity, are you not sure what the right keywords are? Have you seen organizations fall short of fulfilling their promise to their customers despite being resource-rich, and have you also seen organizations accomplish more than they should have been due to their sheer force of will? Are you a voracious learner whom others lean on to have a model or framework to suit any situation?

Join our growing Org Activation practice as a Senior Strategist. We don’t want to be “the Bobs”; we are not interested in traditional workforce reengineering, outsourcing or restructuring. We firmly believe that organizational change needs to be experienced through product and service design rather than taught in classes or mandated by senior leadership.

The goal of frog strategy is to provide integrated insight into new opportunities. To that end, a Senior Strategist must be comfortable and proven in all of the following realms:

  • Understanding people - uncovering user needs and perceiving emerging user behaviors
  • Understanding business – helping our clients find new opportunities for market growth based on industry and market trends
  • Understanding technology – knowledgeable and curious about new technologies, and being able to see them from fresh and user-oriented perspective
  • Understand clients – understanding the context of a frog engagement within the client’s broader priorities to identify synergies and mitigate potential conflicts
