What will you be doing?

Our strategic design team brings a broad range of capabilities and experiences to the table. Solid domain knowledge is key to becoming a partner for our business’, from understanding the business challenges to (co-)creating future proof strategic directions.

The domain expertise of the strategic design team includes deep knowledge in our HealthSpaces – Cardiology, Oncology, Respiratory, FPP (Fertility, Pregnancy & Parenting) – as well as Personal Health, Sustainability and Intellectual Property & Standards (IP&S). By using our specific toolkit of ‘design thinking’ methods, we are able to envisage new future directions. Think of experience flows, story(board)telling, IP generation, and processes to develop value propositions and future positioning of businesses, such as BVP & VPC

Design Thinking for Business Impact: Our approach

FRAMING

You are responsible for:

As a Strategic Designer, you LEAD strategic design activities for existing or new propositions within our full portfolio. In particular, you will:

  • understand business challenges, competition and markets
  • develop an outside-in perspective:
  • customers’ journeys, unmet needs and insight
  • identify relevant trends and developments
  • drive a multi-disciplinary co-creation process
  • use design thinking methods to envisage new future directions
  • implement rapid, iterative approach that enables fast learning
  • validate business opportunities with customers and stakeholders
  • define new strategic landmarks for future businesses
  • create user focused strategies, innovations, solutions and experiences and the user testing and validation of these, considering usability, sustainability and appropriate visual and verbal articulation in line with Design Language System and Brand guidelines
  • drive operational excellence and efficiency, delivering appropriate design quality within budget and project parameters
  • customer focus and Design consultancy, collaborating, partnering and co creating with internal and external stakeholders, with clear and impactful communication and articulation of design decision making
  • creative or content leadership on high complexity project or program level and/or setting the standard with high level of content specialism
  • provide design thought leadership to senior business stakeholders, actively drives co-create approaches between Design and other stakeholders
  • lead larger projects or programs, able to influence direct environment to create enabling conditions for success, to define delivery strategies and manage program level design quality reviews

We want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in (Strategic) Design, Business, Science or Engineering with excellent academic track record; a master’s degree in business administration is a plus, but not mandatory
  • 4+ years of work experience, preferably in an ambitious setting, i.e. agency, consultancy etc.
  • Highly talented 'Design Thinker' with a strong interest in resolving strategic challenges and a passion for the craft of Strategic Design
  • Awareness of and passionate about the latest technology trends, especially in the digital domain
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at an individual and group level, to develop team members and colleagues in business and technology and choose the right communication style or influencing tools
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical skills, and at the same time enjoys working creatively and hands-on in a dynamic and multidisciplinary setting
