Service Designer

Service Designer

Senior Service Designers are responsible for the design of practical, functional and desirable digital services that make sense within the context of a customer’s business objectives and technology roadmaps. You are great at gathering and utilizing business and customer insights, to have the ability to reframe service challenges, articulate opportunities, define strategies, create concepts and lead the development of innovative new services from initial brief to delivery.

You fluently combine human, business and technology viewpoints, and master customer listening. You are familiar with leading contextual user research, mapping user experiences and customer journeys as well as leading co-creation workshops, idea generation, prototyping as well as blueprinting service solutions.

Your fellow team members will rely on you to:

  • ·       Operate with autonomy and engage in all stages of the service design lifecycle, from initial research to the final service blueprint, and at times, implementing the experience design vision leveraging an existing design system
  • ·       Plan and conduct qualitative research
  • ·       Utilize systems thinking to synthesize research findings into comprehensive service scenarios, customer journeys, and interactive prototypes
  • ·       Champion cross-functional evaluations of existing service ecosystems, steering dialogues to deepen team understanding and resolve uncertainties
  • ·       Collaborate on service specifications and ensure adherence to inclusivity and accessibility principles
  • ·       Articulate service strategies and integrated experience visions in partnership with business analysts and technology architects
  • ·       Refine and finalize the service touchpoints and interactions, considering both digital and physical channels
  • ·       Foster a team culture of collaboration, openly sharing iterative developments and learning
  • ·       Guide the translation of service blueprints into real-world application, providing thorough documentation and training to stakeholders
  • ·       Work closely with design peers, strategists, product managers, and technical leads to ensure our services align with user needs and create meaningful user experiences

In this role, you will:

  • ·       Understand goals, business requirements and constraints, market opportunities and user needs to help define opportunity areas and experience requirements
  • ·       Plan, conduct, and synthesize research, testing and prototyping with users and SMEs
  • ·       Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behavior along defined use cases
  • ·       Map existing and future experiences, both front and backstage users who are involved, through journey maps, blueprints, and ecosystem maps
  • ·       Together with cross-disciplinary teams, create digital product experiences that push the bar for the current and future customer and user experience
  • ·       Help define new product/service value propositions and influence roadmaps
  • ·       Craft compelling narratives that bridge user aspirations with business objectives
  • ·       Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behaviour along defined use cases
  • ·       Document product/service requirements and guidelines for following stages of implementation

We want you to have:

·     5+ years of professional experience/interaction in service design (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX designer”), and a robust practical and theoretical grounding in experience design through your studies

  • ·       Ability to work onsite at company headquarters in Chicago three days per week
  • ·       Familiarity with articulating and incorporating accessibility standards and guidelines into design documents and specifications
  • ·       A passion for understanding customer and user needs, as well as experience working with UX researchers and conducting UX research
  • ·       Exemplary core design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work
  • ·       A love of learning new things and growing your skills by diving in head-first to the task at hand
  • ·       Excellent presentation skills, with a strong ability to clearly explain your work to others
  • ·       Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams
  • ·       A deep knowledge of and expertise using design and prototyping tools (such as Figma) and design language systems
  • ·       Affinity for frog’s values, and a passion for creating products that meet peoples’ functional and emotional needs
  • ·       Experience working in an agile product delivery environment
  • ·       Business level ability to conduct business in English
  • ·       Penchant to nerd-out on design and emerging trends
